Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni to star in It Ends With Us adaptation

Blake Lively will star opposite Justin Baldoni in an adaptation of 'It Ends With Us'.

The former 'Gossip Girl' actress and the 'Jane the Virgin' star are attached to star in the big screen version of Colleen Hoover's bestselling novel 'It Ends With Us', which is in development with Sony Pictures and Wayfarer Studios.

Justin - who has worked behind the camera on movies including 'Clouds' and Five Feet Apart' - will also direct the project, which he first obtained the rights for in 2019.

Both stars will also serve as executive producers, as will author Colleen - who is also consulting on the film - and Wayfarer's Steve Sarowitz and Andrew Colf. Christy Hall will adapt the script and produce alongside Alex Saks and Jamey Heath.

'It Ends With Us' was the top-selling print book of 2022 and has been on the New York Times Best Seller List for over 90 weeks. It follows a girl named Lily who has moved after finishing college and falls for a guy named Ryle. But as her feelings develop, her first love Atlas makes a reappearance.

Blake is pregnant with her fourth child but has a busy period ahead as it was previously announced both she and Anna Kendrick will be back for a sequel to 'A Simple Favor', with Paul Feig returning to the director's chair.

A sequel to 'A Simple Favor' is in development.

The original 2018 film followed a blogger (Kendrick) as she attempted to solve the disappearance of her mysterious and elegant friend from their small town. The movie was based on Darcey Bell's 2017 book of the same name and proved to be a critical and commercial hit.

Jessica Sharzer is returning to write and executive produce the project while Feig and Laura Fischer will produce for Feigco Entertainment.

And Blake will also make her feature film directorial debut on 'Seconds', an adaptation of Bryan Lee O’Malley’s graphic novel, which follows Katie Clay, who receives the power to fix her mistakes by writing them down, eating a mushroom and falling asleep.

Katie enthusiastically embraces her new power, only to create new problems for herself and taking her further from both the life she once had and the fabric of time and space.
