Danny Ramirez relished Avengers: Doomsday 'summer camp'

Danny Ramirez has likened shooting Avengers: Doomsday to attending a "summer camp".

The 33-year-old actor has reprised the role of Falcon in Avengers: Doomsday, the upcoming Marvel movie, and Danny has now opened up about the experience of shooting the film.

Asked who was the "coolest" co-star to hang out with, Danny - who stars in Avengers: Doomsday alongside Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Pedro Pascal, Paul Rudd, Florence Pugh, Simu Liu, and Tom Hiddleston - told People: "It’s tough because everyone is fantastic, and we got to spend time with everyone.

"That’s my biggest surprise … whenever you get a collective of people, you expect a bad apple. There’s no bad apples.

"So it felt like a summer camp on set. Everyone was excited to throw it down. You got to have moments with different people throughout the course of filming, and so my cop out answer is everyone."

Despite this, Danny admitted that he particularly enjoyed working with Lewis Pullman, his Top Gun: Maverick co-star.

The actor - who also starred alongside Tom Cruise, Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, and Monica Barbaro in Top Gun: Maverick - said: "I love hanging out with Lewis, so it’s cool to be able to tackle one of the biggest films of all time with one of your best friends."

Danny wanted to become a soccer star during his younger years, and he's brought a sportsman's mentality to his movie career.

He previously told Empire: "As a little kid, I was like, ‘There’s only one thing I’m going to be when I grow up, and it’s a pro athlete."

Danny played soccer at college in Atlanta, but his sporting dreams were put on hold by a painful injury and then, his life changed in a sudden way.

The actor recalled: "A PA from a film came in to ask if [any of us wanted to be] extras.

"The next day is when I bought all my acting books."

Since then, Danny has been very diligent in his efforts to make it big in Hollywood.

He explained: "This is a craft-based process.

"In the same way I work on my first touch, I could work on my emotional resonance, or people-watching, or psychology."

Danny is enthused by the idea of improving as an actor.

He said: "There’s a joy in the challenge, right? The hustle keeps me reinvigorated. It’s always, ‘What have I learned from the previous project? What do I want to do in my next?’"
